A new law. A real path to practise medicine in Florida.

MRBL Health helps international physicians work in Florida under the new regulations, so all you have to do is arrive and start practising.

Florida

What changed in Florida

For decades, a physician trained outside the United States had one realistic route to practise there: sit the US exams and repeat residency, competing for a place against candidates twenty years younger. Most experienced doctors looked at that and stopped.

Florida's Live Healthy Act changed the arithmetic. Since 1 July 2024, Fla. Stat. 458.311(8)(e) allows the Board of Medicine to certify an experienced foreign-trained physician for full, unrestricted licensure, without repeating a US residency.

There is one requirement that comes with the licence: a full-time employment offer from a Florida healthcare provider, kept for at least two consecutive years. Finding that offer, in the right place for you and your family, is one of the first things MRBL Health does for you.

How it works

Three tracks, running at once

The licence, the immigration case and the landing are separate systems with separate clocks. Run in sequence, they take years. Run in parallel, with the dependencies mapped, they take quarters. Managing that parallelism is the work.

Track 1 The Florida licence
  • ECFMG certification support, from credential evaluation to the ACGME equivalence assessment
  • Exam prep and tutoring for the three USMLE steps
  • Direct contact with certifying bodies throughout the file
  • A dated calendar for your full licensing file, once we know your starting point
Track 2 Immigration
  • Visa route selection based on every passport in your household, countries of birth and family situation
  • A strategy built around your case, not a generic template
  • Filings handled with qualified US immigration counsel
  • End-to-end management of your visa process
Track 3 Settling in
  • Clinic offer matched to your specialty
  • Housing search support
  • School placement timed to the academic year
  • Banking, insurance and everyday settling-in logistics
We run these three workflows in parallel, so the administrative work is ours, not yours. You have one thing to do: show up ready to practise.

FAQ

Straight answers

Do I have to redo a residency?

No.

Is the licence restricted or supervised?

Full and unrestricted. Conditions attach to the person, not to scope of practice.

Can I use it in another state?

Not automatically. The interstate compact requires US-accredited postgraduate training.

How long does it take?

The Board states two to six months for the licence; the immigration case runs on its own clock. We give a dated plan, not a number.

Can my spouse work?

Depends entirely on the route. Established early, in writing, before engagement.
